Omar Omar

Omar Omar is a husband, a father,  an immigrant, and a settler on Indigenous lands. For the past 20+ years, Omar has worked as a professional in the not-for-profit sector. Starting with a grassroots organization in the Rexdale neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, he has worked with various organizations at local, provincial, and national levels. For the past 16 years, Omar has worked in grantmaking and philanthropy. Through these experiences, he has developed a deep appreciation for the solutions created by those most marginalized by the financial systems and processes. In his current position as Director of Community Investment with The Foundation for Black Communities (FFBC), Omar works to ensure that FFBC’s community investments recognize and value the capacity for problem-solving that exists in Black communities across Canada.
