About the Role
Programming Coordinators are responsible for supporting the Programming Director in coordinating BIAs community initiatives such as holiday initiatives, Black History Month events by establishing partnerships, establishing meetings, overseeing the successful coordination of community programs and conducting an analysis of the feedback from the attendees and making necessary post-event reports.
Requirements
Qualifications and Essential Skills:
Project Management experience is an asset
Event planning experience is an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication
General knowledge of non-profits
Passionate about Black community engagement and social justice
Access to a laptop and basic understanding of Zoom, Google and Slack
Responsibilities:
Community Engagement Facilitation
Plan and lead BIA program initiatives with the support of Programming Director both internally and with external organizations
Regularly contribute to BIAs project planning, implementation, and reporting
Provide updates regarding community initiatives in weekly whole team meetings
Analyze data and feedback of community engagement resources, and make necessary revisions for future initiatives
Provide additional administrative support as needed to the Programming Director
Assist up to 5 hours/week with the operations of another sub-team, if desired
External outreach
Develop partnerships with other Black led/youth led organizations in relation to community activities.
Collaboration
Work collaboratively with other executives in advancing community engagements ih fundraising, writing grants, and creating partnerships
Collaborate with Marketing team to develop materials to promote the community initiatives and increase engagement
