Founders

BIA was founded in May 2020 in Calgary, Alberta after five student leaders decided that enough was enough. They wanted to see Black youth in Alberta have access to safe spaces that reflected them, and opportunities to access resources that they were restricted from. The "for us, by us" model has centered BIA's mission, and the founders' contributions to the organization are long-lasting.
